At Fabrum Solutions, we
were so impressed with a double kayak produced by local
man Richard Wyatt that we offered to make them under
license. Richard had made a few over the years and they
have been used successfully, from adventure racing to
circumnavigating D’Urville Island in the Marlborough
Sounds. Based on a Burton surf ski, they have good speed
and handle rough conditions well.
We were attracted to the versatility
of the boat and have used it for our own adventure racing
teams, racing down the Waimak Gorge, playing in the
surf and family holidays.
These boats are being used by
Team Capital Stamina to lead the current New Zealand
Adventure Racing Championship.
